MARIE TORR
MANAGER
I love being part of the thriving MHT team and making a difference in our community. My role is to work alongside the team here at MHT, supporting them in providing great service to our clients and stakeholders. My background ranges from Sales & Service, Supply Chain & Logistics, and working on a cattle station in remote Australia.
VANESSA KOOYMAN
ADMINISTRATOR
I joined the Trust in September 2023 and come with a variety of experience in administrative roles from a range of industries (banking, law enforcement, public health, and tertiary education) in the Waikato, Hutt Valley, and Manawatu areas.
I am married with three adult daughters and two granddaughters. I love spending time with my family, gardening, crafts, travel, walking the beach and riding my motorcycle.
ANDREA BELL
YOUTH CO-ORDINATOR
I love my job working with youth from birth – 30 yrs who have diabetes and their whānau/families. I am continually inspired by their courage and tenacity. 'They are true warriors!’
I organise social events, camps and support groups whereby our community can connect, have fun, take time to recharge and encourage each other on their journey. Support and advocacy is also an important part of my role.

REGISTERED NURSE
Hi, I’m Penny, mother of three and Nurse Educator for MHT – Diabetes Trust. I’m a registered nurse with over 15 years of experience working in the Manawatu area. I have a real passion for supporting, educating individuals and community groups to take control of decision making regarding their own personal health and wellbeing.
I have extensive knowledge of diabetes and understand that not only the individual is affected – diabetes can affect the entire family dynamic. My team and I are here to answer your questions, discuss your concerns and improve your knowledge of how to best manage your lifestyle.
ANISHKA
REGISTERED DIETITIAN
Hi! I work with you to learn about foods that have an impact on blood sugar levels and support you in building confidence around introducing better choices, label reading and cooking meals. I’ve previously worked in diabetes services in both the Manawatu and Auckland region. I look forward to seeing you in our courses throughout the year.
